Both he and Roquefort don't get along due to Roquefort cares about finances, while Zanzo cares about his inventions no matter how much it cost.Zanzo also quotes one of Dracula's lines from the Castlevania series: "But enough talk! Have at you!".Similarly, he has fashion magazines around his desk, which is a common art reference for the Jojo series creator, Hirohiko Araki, giving the series it's iconic flamboyance. In comparison to the other bosses, Zanzo is shown to be the most flashy and flamboyant. He is shown many times to be complimenting and awarding his own "brilliant" ideas.
